Prayer Found in Lamentations 3: 17-26

And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgot prosperity.

And I said, my strength and my hope are perished from the LORD:

Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood, and the gall.

My soul hath them still in remembrance and is humbled in me.

This I recall to my mind, therefore have, I hope.

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore, will I hope in him.

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Summary of The Book of Lamentations

Lamentations is found in the Old Testament Books. It is the Twenty-Fifth Books out of Thirty-Nine Books the Holy Bible. Lamentation is also known as the third Major Prophets. Like the book of Job, Lamentations pictures a man of God puzzling over the results of evil and suffering in the world.

However, while Job dealt with unexplained evil, Jeremiah lamented a tragedy entirely of Jerusalem’s making. The people of this great city experienced the judgment of the Holy God, and the results were devastating.

But at the heart of this book, at the centre of this lament over the effects of sin in the world. Lamentations 3:22- 25, these verses devoted to hope in the Lord. This statement of faith standing strong in the midst of the surrounding darkness shines as a beacon to all those suffering under the consequences of their own sin and disobedience

Lamentations gives us a good example and reminds us of the importance not only of mourning over our sin but of asking the Lord for His forgiveness when we fail Him.

Thank You Lord we can run to You when we sin and fallen short of Your glory.

GOD OF FAITHFULNESS TRUST HIM
