Heavenly Father, we thank you for your love and mercy.
We thank you for a new day, a new beginning.
We give you all the glory and honour; worthy is your name.
O Lord, King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3 tells us there is a season for everything. As we go through this season, please help us to be wise and use wisdom in whatever we do or say; allow us to open our mouths and proclaim our praise.
To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3 :1 KJV
Lord, help us to be that light that will shine from under the bushel so that others will see our glory. Blessed are you, Sovereign God, king of the nations; you are worthy of praise, and I give you all the glory forever. From the sun’s rising to its setting, your name is proclaimed worldwide. As the Son of Righteousness dawns in our hearts, anoint our lips with the seal of your Spirit that we may witness to your gospel and sing your praise in all the earth.
As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, a new week, mighty God, whatever we face, let us give you thanks because your mercy is everlasting to all generations. According to Psalm 100:4-5. May the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you, now and forever.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5 KJV
May nothing stand between you and us today, Lord. Teach us to solely select your path today so that each step brings us nearer to you. Help us to walk by the Word and not by the sensations. Keep our hearts uncorrupted and unbroken, please. Please shield us from our thoughtless words, deeds, and ideas. And prevent us from getting sidetracked by our wants, desires, and ideas about how things ought to be. Please help us to see opportunities rather than personal inconveniences in everything that comes our way.
You already know how we will err and fail, so please help us to rest in the truth of Psalm 86:13, "Great is your love toward us." But for now, we deliberately push your utter whisper of love for us into the furthest recesses of our hearts. We understand that your affection for us is not a result of our stellar performance. The most incredible thing, though, is that the Saviour of this world would want to spend some time with us this morning. Lord, please enable us always to be aware of the blessing of being in your presence.
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
Psalm 86:13 KJV
AMEN
